Royal Mail Postage Price Changes and Christmas 2026 Posting Deadlines

October 2026 – Important updates for businesses sending post this autumn and Christmas.

As we approach the busiest mailing season of the year, there are some important Royal Mail updates that businesses should be aware of, including changes to postage prices and the last recommended posting dates for Christmas 2026.

October 2026 – What’s Changed with Royal Mail Postage Prices?

While the planned Royal Mail wholesale Access Mail price increases were suspended following Ofcom’s intervention, some postage prices did change on 5 October 2026.

For businesses using franking machines, the changes included increases to Business Mail Advance rates:

• First Class: Increased from 152.5p to 160.9p.
• Second Class: Increased from 75.4p to 88p.

There were also increases to selected parcel services purchased using stamps or at the Post Office. For example:

• First Class Small Parcel: Increased from £5.45 to £5.90.
• Second Class Small Parcel: Increased from £4.25 to £4.60.

However, the equivalent franking prices remained unchanged at £5.45 and £4.25 respectively, meaning businesses can continue to benefit from savings when using their franking machines.
